Updated: May 28

Are you ready to give your kitchen a stylish upgrade without breaking the bank? Look no further! In this blog post, we're sharing how we transformed our range hood cover into a stunning focal point on a budget. Get ready to be inspired!

Materials Used:

  • 5 3D fluted panels

  • Two 2x4s

  • 1 piece of trim ( Optional )

  • Caulk (on hand)

  • Brad nails (on hand)

  • Brad nailer

Step-by-Step Guide:

  1. Measure and Cut: We started by measuring the height of our range hood and then cutting the 3D fluted panels into three equal sections to fit the height.

  2. Frame the Range Hood: Using 2x4s, we framed the range hood to provide a sturdy base for attaching the panels. This step ensures a seamless and professional-looking finish.

  3. Attach the Panels: Once the frame was in place, we attached the cut panels to the frame using 1” brad nails. The panels instantly transformed the look of the range hood, adding texture and visual interest.

  4. Add Trim: To give the cover a polished look, we added a piece of trim along the edges. This step not only enhances the aesthetics but also conceals any rough edges for a clean finish.

  5. Caulk and Final Touches: Finally, we applied caulk to any gaps between the panels and the frame to ensure a seamless finish. With a few final touches, our budget-friendly range hood cover was complete!

Total Cost: The best part? The total cost of this project was under $100! By utilizing affordable materials and repurposing items we already had on hand, we were able to achieve a high-end look without the hefty price tag.
